The Battle of the Bridge

The "Battle of the Bridge" football rivalry began in the 1920's between Lenoir City and Loudon High School and continues to this day. Learn how the history of theU.S. effected this yearly event and the importance and tradition of rivalries in thegame of life. The Duck River, the Most Diverse River in America

Communities have built along the Duck River since the 1700's when land grants were given to Revolutionary War veterans. We want to share the contributions these communities have made to our area. Also, the Duck River has many species that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. As the population increases around this river, how is it impacting the survival of the species? Effects of the BP Oil Spill on Fishing Industry

Learn firsthand how the BP Oil Spill affected the fishing/seafood industry in the small, rural, Gulf-Coast community of Lake Arthur, LA. Join us for an informative presentation that highlights the struggles of local fishermen whose livelihoods were affected by the BP Oil Spill. Gumbo Cajun Style

Traditional southern food is an important part of life in the rural town of Heflin, Alabama! Join this group of sixth graders as they describe southern hospitality and prepare a traditional southern, Sunday meal. This demonstration is sure to leave your mouth watering! Duck Hunting: Luring in the Ducks

Welcome to Sportsman's Paradise! Students in the rural Southwest Louisiana community of Lake Arthur will demonstrate the art of calling ducks. Each duck has its own distinct sound that must be imitated for a successful hunt. Also, learn about the most and least desirable places to hunt ducks in Southwest Louisiana. Backwoods of Alabama

The beautiful, natural resources of rural Alabama often lead to interests in nature and outdoor recreation. Join this group of sixth grade boys as they describe growing up in the deep south and learning to fish and hunt at an early age! Students will share their experiences and knowledge of fishing and hunting game (deer, squirrels, and turkey). Students will provide an overview of life in rural Alabama, focusing on the natural resources that provide outdoor recreational opportunities in the community. Classifying Ducks and Hunting Blinds

In rural Southwest Louisiana, duck hunting is the winter sport of choice. To remain in compliance with wildlife regulations, hunters must be educated on the identifying features of various ducks. Fit for a King

Join us as we present a delicacy fit for a king --- Louisiana Mardi Gras King Cakes. Students will explore the Mardi Gras King Cake Tradition. They will trace the history and symbolism of the King Cake, discuss King Cake traditions during the Mardi Gras season, and demonstrate how to make a King Cake. The Spider Rock Treasure

The Spider Rock Treasure is supposedly buried somewhere in Stonewall County, Texas. Our program will feature reenactments along with interactive media and will cover the legends associated with Spider Rock , the discovery of the Spider Rock Maps, along with interviews of people that have studied the treasure.
