Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge offers programs in Spanish!

Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge have 33 content enhancement programs designed for grades 1-12 available via video conferencing. The option to receive some of these programs in Spanish only or both English and Spanish is available upon request.

Lonestar Bats
Grades 1-7

Bats are more than just a unique flying mammal. They play an important role as pollinators, pest controllers, and fertilizers. Join the Nature Center as we learn more about the common bats that live in our area, their plight, and how important they are for our own survival here on earth.

Turtles are Terrific
Grades 3-12

Turtles are one of the most recognized groups of animals living on this planet. Why has this ancient group of animals been so successful? During this program we will learn about where they live, what they eat and how they are surviving in the modern world.

A Monarch's Journey
Grades 1-12

They are colorful, small, and travel thousands of miles each fall and spring. Delve into a Monarch butterfly life’s journey by exploring their life cycles, adaptations, and migration. In addition, find out ways to help them through their life’s journey.

Mission Opossumable
Grades 1-8

Investigate the lives of the only native marsupials of North America, the Virginia Opossums. Gain insight on their habits, behaviors, life cycles, and surviving skills. Through artifacts and a live presentation, uncover the mysteries of these secretive nocturnal creatures.

The Magnificent Five
Grades 3-9

Discover the similarities and differences among animals with a backbone. Learn how scientists have used their characteristics to classify them into five main classes, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Plus discover a sample of the North America's wildlife that fall into the magnificent five.
