ANIMATION with the CLEVELAND INSTITUTE OF ART
is a two-part distance learning program created by professors at The Cleveland Institute of Art for high school students. The program explores the process of creating animation from initial concept to final product and the many different types of animation in the field. Students will learn how to evaluate and critique animations.

Program Description ANIMATION with the CLEVELAND INSTITUTE OF ART
Ever wonder what goes into making animation? Learn more about this emerging field and the variety of creative possibilities in the field.

Students will learn about animation, including its history, research & development, pre-post production and software used in creating 2D, 3D, and stop-motion animation.

Part One will cover animation basics and production. Students will also view animations in process and completed clips from professors & students.

Part Two will cover how you engage in a crtitique of creative work, while viewing works in progress from animation examples and your students work. Students will learn how concepts, techniques and aesthetics are evaluated in critiques using animation.

The Cleveland Institute of Art is a fine arts college, located in University Circle in Cleveland, OH.
Program Format The program begins with a discussion of animation and demonstrates works in progress and completed animated works created by professors and students from The Cleveland Institute of Art. There is ample time for discussion and questions.

To learn about “the Critique, “ active critical discussion of work
To learn about the key areas of the critique and how this is used when developing and evaluating work

To do active critique sessions and evaluate examples of animations
