Investigate the fascination, unusual, and perhaps shocking way of life of the ancient Inca people. Explore mountaintop cities, ancient technologies, and bizarre rituals of this pre-Columbian culture.


Program format:
1. Recap Pre-Lab/Geography/Climatology
2. Review the definition of culture
3. Discuss how geography influences culture
4. Discuss scientific achievements of the ancient Incas
5. Make your own Peruvian mummy!
6. Post-Lab Introduction


Students will be able to:
-Describe the geographic location of Peru
-Identify physical characteristics of Peru
-Learn how archaeology is used to explore historical cultures
-Explain cultural characteristics of the Inca communities
-Compare and contrast US and Inca culture
-Explain how knowledge of cultural differences can create tolerance and acceptance of others
