One Small Hero Ruby Bridge

This lesson is designed to promote the study of racial integration, with the true story of Ruby Bridges, who singlehandedly broke the color line in New Orleans in 1960. She broke barriers and built bridges by
attending an all white school in New Orleans.


How Big Are Martin Luther King’s Big Words

Using the book, "Martin's Big Words", students learn of King’s determination to use “big words”
through biographical information and quotations. Students will explore information on King’s big words and
will write about their own big words and dreams


Remembering our Veteran

Join us to learn the history of Veterans Day. Students are
introduced to major US Wars and the effect on how we celebrate and honor our veterans. Using the book "The Wall" by Eve Bunting, students will create a classroom "Wall of Thanks
