Program Description Students will examine the role waterways played in Civil War battles. Students will learn the importance of the shipbuilding industry to the Civil War. Students will discover the early history of submarine technology.
Program Format 1. This program will begin with a discussion of the Civil War.
2. Students will learn about significant Civil War battles on both land and water.
3. Students will discover the earliest submarines submarine technology in US history.
4. Time is allowed for questions and answers.
Objectives Students will discover the significance of waterways during the Civil War.
Students will explore types of naval warfare during the Civil War.
Students will gain an understanding of submarines and submarine technology.
