Program Description This program is about the benefits of using creativity and humor as productive communication tools. Based on Dave Schwensen's college course and corporate training program, "You're Talking, But Is Anyone Really Listening?" students learn the benefits of good humor vs. the negatives of bad humor, and how positive creative thoughts and observations about daily events and shared experiences can ease peer pressure and tension, start conversations and improve teamwork. The goal is to remove communication barriers and promote interaction between students through fun and relatable conversations. Course includes workbook, classroom participation and laughter.

Presentation Includes:
* A four page workbook, (easy and fun to fill out)
* Discussion about the benefits of good humor vs. bad humor
* Each student uses the workbook to explore his/her sense of humor and has an opportunity to share results with the class
* Discuss how creativity comes from personal thoughts and opinions with the emphasis placed on being positive vs. negative
* Workbook exercise follows steps on how to take a shared experience, add creative and humorous enhancements, (thoughs and observations), and use in a conversation. Students will have an opportunity to share his/her short conversational story with the class. Number of participants depends on time.

Older student examples would include: intelligent / cerebral, slapstick, sarcastic, etc...
4. We then discuss creative thinking using individual thoughts and opinions about common topics. Each person is unique and may have different thoughts and opinions about the same thing. Example: For some the glass is half full, for others half empty.
5. Workbook exercise / class participation. Follow workbook steps to develop short conversational story enhanced by creativity and humor about a common experience, (traveling to school that day). Students can present short conversational story to class. Number of participants depends on time restraints.
