Grades K-2: Gosling Story Time with Mrs. Goose


Gosling Story Time with Mrs. Goose: Terrific Transportation
Pre-K and K students will practice using rhyming works in songs and finger plays and listen to a rhyming story about snowmen. They also interact with Mrs. Goose by playing a memory game and reciting and acting out the nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty". Students also enjoy seeing and hearing their own names during the presentation.
Grades 1-2 students will practice using rhyming words in songs and finger plays and listen to a rhyming story about snowmen. They also interact with Mrs. Goose by discovering mystery words and using these words to make a book. They will conclude with a memory game and letter/word recognition practice.
Program Format

Format PreK-K1. The program begins with an introduction of Mrs. Goose, discussion of theme and Welcome song.2. Then there will be a story.3. There will be a Question and Answer time about the story.4. Next will be the theme songs and finger plays.5. Nursery Rhyme time.6. A What's Missing Game.7. closing and Goodbye song.Format Grades 1-21.The program begins with an introduction of Mrs. Goose, discussion of the theme, and Welcome song. 2. Mrs. Goose will read a story.3. There will be a question and answer time about the story.4. Theme songs and finger plays will be introduced and acted out.5. Mystery Rhyming words activity.6. What's Missing game.7. Closing summary and Good-bye song.
Objectives

PreK-grade 2The participant will:-practice rhythm, rhyme, and repetition with songs and finger plays-be able to identify and make oral rhymes-practice phonological awareness skills-identify and discuss title, author, illustrator, and illustrations-practice making predictions-respond logically to questions before, during and after listening to text-recognize some letters and words in print-sequence events according to basic story structure-use knowledge of developmentally appropriate decoding skills when reading unknown words-practice mental representation skills
