Program Description | Each lesson plan explores the many areas of a healthy lifestyle such as an introduction to Heart “E” Heart and his friends, exercise, and nutrition. The lessons are tailored specifically to each age-group and are more detailed in the upper grades. There are many activities within each lesson and there will also be tasks the children will work on in between meetings. | |

Objectives | The student will: -name the 5 different food groups from the USDA food pyramid -discuss the importance of each group -compare and contrast healthy body characters to unhealthy characters -understand which types of exercises are most helpful to children -discuss the role of the blood vessels, lipids, triglycerides, and fat cells | |
